What to expect on Awaken Your Bliss

Each day will include opportunities to move, reflect, and experience the natural beauty of our surroundings, while also allowing you to settle into your own rhythm.

You can expect two daily yoga and movement practices that support both energy and restoration. Morning sessions will help you wake the body gently, build strength and mobility, and set the tone for the day ahead. Evening practices will invite you to slow down, release tension, and integrate the experiences of the day through mindful movement, healing, breathwork, or restorative.

In addition to our daytime practices, each evening will include a mindful gathering or event designed to deepen connection and create meaningful shared experiences. These moments may include guided reflection, community circles, meditation, or simply time to be together in a supportive and relaxed environment.

Meet Your Hosts and Curators of Awaken Your Bliss

Awaken Your Bliss Yoga Retreats are guided by people who care deeply about creating spaces where others feel welcome, supported, and able to show up as they truly are. These retreats are an extension of the community and spirit that has grown at Bliss Yoga Studio, where the intention has always been to take the practice seriously while holding ourselves with a sense of lightness and joy.

Our hope is that you feel not only guided but genuinely accompanied in the experience. Retreat allows us to share more of who we are as humans, not just as teachers, and to create meaningful connections that go beyond the structure of a class.

Marianne Ames is the founder of Bliss Yoga Studio and the visionary behind Awaken Your Bliss Yoga Retreats. She brings a playful spirit and an inspiring presence to her work, holding space with both passion and tenderness. Known for the way she blends strength with softness, Marianne creates environments where students feel encouraged to explore their growth while also experiencing moments of ease and genuine enjoyment.
Her teaching draws from slow embodied flow, playful Vinyasa, Yin, somatic practices, nervous system awareness, guided meditation, Yoga Nidra, ritual, and circle facilitation. With over nine years of teaching yoga and nearly twenty-five years as a facilitator, Marianne’s approach is shaped by lived experience and a deep trust in the body’s ability to guide the healing and learning process.

Retreats are especially meaningful to her because they expand the creative and relational possibilities of teaching. She values the way travel allows students to discover that peace, joy, and connection are not limited to familiar spaces, but can be cultivated anywhere.

Adam Riehl brings a grounded and thoughtful energy to the Awaken Your Bliss retreat experience. With over eleven years of teaching, and countless years in leadership, he is known for his honesty, his care for students, and his ability to create a space that feels both sacred and approachable. His natural sense of humor and genuine presence help people relax into their practice while still feeling supported in meaningful growth.
Adam enjoys guiding creative and unconventional movement flows, as well as offering sound baths, chanting, and energetically focused experiences that support reflection and healing. His Yin and Hatha classes are steady and supportive, encouraging students to slow down and connect more deeply with their body and breath.

For Adam, a retreat is an opportunity to share his passion for yoga while experiencing new places alongside like-minded people. He values the deeper connections that form when people step outside their routines and into shared experiences that foster both community and personal insight.

Together, Marianne and Adam bring nearly a decade of collaborative teaching, mentorship, and program development to the Awaken Your Bliss retreat experience. Over the years, they have worked side by side within teacher trainings and advanced student offerings, not only guiding individuals through their personal practice, but also shaping the growth of the Bliss community as a whole.

Their partnership has been rooted in a shared commitment to creating experiences that are both accessible and deeply meaningful. Rather than simply delivering content, they have co-created environments where students are invited to explore movement, self awareness, and personal transformation in ways that feel supportive and sustainable.

Through years of teaching together, they have developed a natural rhythm in how they hold space. There is an ease in their collaboration that allows students to feel both grounded and inspired, challenged and cared for. Their combined strengths bring balance to the retreat experience, blending playfulness with depth, structure with creativity, and individual reflection with collective connection.
